"Intern for Technical Procurement

Opportunities and challenges in the “Sourcing and Procurement” function:
SATS and WFS Sourcing & Procurement have embarked in a global integration that harmonizes policies, governance, data, and talent while respecting regional operational realities. A clear structural separation is required between Operational Procurement, embedded with operations to drive speed, continuity, and productivity, and Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management, centralized to maximize leverage and value creation. This integrated strategic function will own category strategies, global negotiations, contract drafting and lifecycle management, supplier risk and performance, and innovation partnerships. Standardized processes, common digital platforms, and shared supplier intelligence will underpin scale benefits and transparency. Strong governance, capability uplift, and change management are critical to ensure accountability, sustain savings delivery, and build a high performance, value focused global procurement organization.

 
Key Responsibilities 
· Support part of procurement for technical and operational equipment, ground support equipment, spare parts and related technical assets or Building and Construction operations, ensuring that P2P, sourcing and contract management activities are managed and aligned to user specifications, safety requirements, operational timelines and regulatory standards. Support competitive bidding exercises and negotiations to deliver best-value outcomes. 
· Support the development and maintenance the Category Strategy for the GSE/VEHICLES & MRO or the Building and Construction portfolio Categories, supporting the establishment of a multi-year roadmap that drives value creation and delivers cost savings through setting strategic priorities based on the understanding of business needs and the regional supply chain landscape. Identify and realise synergistic opportunities across contracts to optimise demand, consolidate suppliers and establish scalable procurement frameworks.
Team Development and Management
· Support the team of executives within the GSE/VEHICLES & MRO  or the Building and Construction portfolio to deliver end to end category procurement activities, drive strategic category outcomes at a regional level, providing structured performance guidance, direction, and accountability to ensure accurate and timely reporting of category KPIs, savings tracking, and supplier performance metrics as well as consolidated category performance, strategic initiatives, and management level reporting. 
Cost Optimization, Value Creation and Stakeholder management:
· Support the Category manager to provide strategic advisory to internal stakeholders at the senior management level to shape procurement specifications, evaluations, and award strategies, whilst ensuring compliance with safety, security, regulatory and other aviation-related requirements. Drive cost savings initiatives through competitive sourcing, demand management, and process improvements."

Key Requirements

Position Summary 


The Intern in the Technical & Capex or the Building and Construction portfolio Procurement team is responsible for leading part of procurement activities and driving strategic category management for GSE/VEHICLES & MRO or the Building and Construction portfolio. The role leverages category expertise to shape procurement decisions, with a strong focus on advanced analytics, innovation at scale and sustainability leadership. It ensures value optimised, standardised, and risk managed procurement outcomes that directly support safe, secure, and uninterrupted operations across SATS’ SG Hub and potentially the wider Regional SATS network, whilst advancing the organisation’s goals in productivity, quality, and responsible procurement. This role serves as supporting team for the Regional leader in strategic procurement, applying global best practices and frameworks already developed for SATS entities across the network.
