Key Responsibilities

 

This role is part of the SATS Food Solutions HSSE team and serves as the HSSE Business Partner for the In-flight Catering (Cabin Handling) business. The incumbent will work closely with the Business Unit’s Head of Department, Managers and other stakeholders to implement, sustain and continuously improve an effective HSSE management system, ensuring a safe, secure and compliant operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the HSSE Business Partner for In-flight Catering (Cabin Handling), working closely with Business Unit’s Head of Department and stakeholders to achieve a safe and secure workplace.
  • Lead, drive and support HSSE and aviation safety management programmes across the business.
  • Support the implementation, oversight and review of event management, inspection and assurance programmes.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate potential hazards and risks that may result in injury, illness, property damage or operational disruption.
  • Conduct internal HSSE audits and support external audits; track, follow up and close out audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Support and participate in internal and external incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Serve as Secretary to the HSSE Committee, working closely with the appointed Chairman to ensure monthly meetings are conducted and relevant HSSE matters are addressed.
  • Ensure familiarity with and compliance to applicable HSSE legal and regulatory requirements and standards, including but not limited to the WSH Act, Fire Safety Act, ISAGO and ISO 45001.
  • Monitor HSSE KPIs and ensure timely preparation and submission of reports.
  • Maintain and update HSSE documentation, including risk assessments, training records, procedures and safety data.
  • Lead and/or participate in safety improvement projects and Group/Regional HSSE initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support HSSE data management and administration of HSSE systems.
  • Liaise with government agencies, industry partners and security professionals to maintain effective relationships and ensure regulatory compliance, including fire safety requirements.
  • Represent the organisation in engagements with external stakeholders and authorities on HSSE-related matters.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to Business Units and stakeholders on all HSSE matters.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

Key Requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant HSSE experience; experience in the aviation or catering environment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IATA / ISAGO requirements; knowledge of Airport GOSM will be advantageous.
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage data, statistics and reports accurately.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Well-organised with a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Open-minded, objective and solutions-focused when addressing issues.
  • Ability to prioritise work and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
