Key Responsibilities
1.Hospitality & Event Operations
- Lead front-of-house operations for hospitality suites, banquets, and events.
- Work closely with sales and culinary teams to ensure successful event delivery.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and integrity of food and beverage products and services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and service standards.
- Support menu planning initiatives, including banquet, suite, seasonal, and special event offerings.
- Manage daily operations in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
2.Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead, coach, and develop hospitality teams to deliver outstanding service.
- Manage staffing levels, rostering, and labour allocation within budget.
- Recruit, train, and mentor employees and casual staff.
- Conduct event briefings, provide performance feedback, and drive staff engagement.
- Develop succession plans and support employee performance management.
3.Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with customers, clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through high-quality service delivery.
- Handle customer complaints and service-related issues professionally.
- Develop innovative event concepts and service offerings to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
4.Financial & Inventory Management
- Manage labour costs, inventory levels, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Assist with financial reporting, revenue forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Monitor market trends and implement strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Ensure effective stock control, purchasing, cash handling, and asset security.
5.Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), Food Safety, HACCP, liquor licensing, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor food hygiene, allergy awareness, grooming standards, and operational compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure incidents, hazards, and near misses are properly reported and addressed.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.
Key Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, Retail, or a related field.
- Food Safety Certificate.
- Relevant alcohol service and liquor licensing certifications.
- Minimum 5 years of hospitality, event, or banquet operations experience.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
- Proven experience managing large-scale events of 300+ guests.
- Strong leadership, planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and inventory control skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including:
- Buffet service
- Canapés
- Plated dining
- Chinese banquet service
- Wines, cocktails, and beverages
- Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and develop teams.
