About SATS New Product Development for Gateway Services


SATS is strengthening its new global New Product Development (NPD) capability focused on identifying, validating and commercialising new growth opportunities across our network. Operating at the intersection of product innovation, enterprise transformation and commercial strategy, the NPD team partners across Commercial, Operations, Technology and Finance to develop new service offerings that strengthen SATS’s long-term competitive position.

The team is intentionally lean, senior and execution-focused. AI-enabled ways of working are embedded into daily operations to improve the speed, quality and efficiency of research, analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities


The Manager/Senior Programme Manager, NPD Governance & Operations, is responsible for establishing and managing the operating infrastructure that enables SATS New Product Development function to scale effectively.


This role integrates programme management, governance leadership and operational coordination across a portfolio of concurrent initiatives. It partners closely with the Discovery Lead, the Scaling & Commercialisation lead, and the Product Management organisation to ensure alignment, delivery discipline and governance consistency throughout the end-to-end NPD lifecycle. You will design frameworks, reporting cadences, portfolio visibility and operating disciplines that empower a small, high-performing team to execute effectively within a complex global matrix organisation.

You will work closely with the VP, Global Head of NPD, while partnering across Commercial, Operations, Technology and Finance teams to maintain delivery alignment, governance quality and executive visibility.


Governance & Portfolio Management

  • Design, implement and continuously improve the SATS NPD governance framework across the full product development lifecycle
  • Manage the NPD opportunity pipeline, stage-gate process and prioritisation framework
  • Define governance standards, decision protocols and escalation processes across active initiatives
  • Maintain portfolio visibility, delivery discipline and work-in-progress management across the NPD function


Programme Management & Coordination

  • Lead integrated programme management across multiple active NPD initiatives
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies, milestones, risks and stakeholder commitments
  • Support seamless handovers between discovery, scaling and long-term product ownership teams while maintaining continuity of operational, commercial and customer context
  • Track delivery progress and proactively surface risks, blockers and resource constraints


Executive Reporting & Operating Rhythm

  • Develop executive-ready reporting packs, dashboards and portfolio updates for senior leadership
  • Translate complex programme data into clear, actionable insights and decision points
  • Design and manage the NPD operating rhythm including governance forums, pipeline reviews and leadership updates
  • Maintain documentation standards, institutional knowledge and programme records


Continuous Improvement & AI Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness, reporting quality and operational efficiency
  • Implement AI-enabled workflows to streamline reporting, documentation and portfolio management activities
  • Support development of internal thought leadership, knowledge sharing and NPD capability building across the organisation
  • Support onboarding and capability building across the NPD function

Key Requirements

 

  • With over 6 years of experience across PMO leadership, programme management or operational governance roles.
  • Proven track record in designing and governing structures that improve delivery effectiveness without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Experience supporting executive governance forums and senior leadership reporting.
  • Exposure to commercial, transformation or new product development environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development through industry engagement, conferences, certifications and training.
  • Relevant experience working within complex, cross-functional organisations is preferred.

  • Proven expertise in programme and portfolio management, with excellent organisational, coordination, and prioritisation skills.
  • High data literacy, with the ability to generate meaningful reporting and portfolio insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders and drive accountability across functions.
  • Practical fluency in AI tools and a readiness to adopt AI‑enabled ways of working as a core part of the role.
  • Proficiency in programme management and collaboration platforms.
