Key Responsibilities
The Trainee Catering Officer is responsible for managing float equipment stock and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the Sub-store.
1. Stock Control of Float Equipment in Sub-store
To support the efficient operations of the Galley Build-up area, it is essential that an adequate backup stock of airline equipment is maintained at all times.
- Ensuring proper storage and storekeeping
- Regular replenishment of depleted stock
- Monthly stock checks
2. Stock Control and Storekeeping
There are dedicated shelving allocated to each airlines to store their equipment float.
- Monitor the usage of back-up stock and fix stock level
- Reallocate shelving when necessary
- Supervise the activities in the storage area
- Ensure that shelving is properly labelled and marked
- Ensure that items are stored in the correct shelves at the designated areas for paperware, chinaware, melamine ware and glassware
- Ensure rotation of equipment use
- Ensure that equipment are not removed from rack for unauthorized purposes
- Ensure that the equipment are kept clean and orderly
- Reports to Airline Relations Manager of the airline concerned for any nil stock item
3. Replenish Depleted Stock on Racks
Replenishment of stock is carried out by Sub-store Officer and the Catering Assistants Sub-store
- Replenish the stock when it is low Officer
- Inform Account Executive to arrange for replenishment urgently, or
- Input the stock requisition into the SAP to withdraw the stock from AS/RS
- Instruct Catering Assistants to collect items ordered and supervise collection
- Check items collected and arrange for washing of items
- After washing, arrange for items to be stacked in shelving
- Keep proper records of items ordered and received
4. Monthly Stock Checks
- Obtain end-of-the-month inventory checklist for the stock of all airlines to be counted Substore Officer
- Arrange for Operations Assistants to undertake physical stock count
- Compile a stock return based on figures submitted by Operations Assistants and Catering Assistants
- Sign and-send the stock inventory return to Supplies Database Section who will incorporate the figures in his returns to the airlines concerned
Key Requirements
- Diploma in any discipline is preferred.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Energetic, physically fit and like hands on physical work.
- Team player who is motivated and committed with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and excel
- Able to lead and instil positive mindsets through effective communication to team while providing frequent updates to process developments as required
