Key Responsibilities
The Head of Product Management is an exciting leadership role with the purpose of innovating, differentiating and optimizing our portfolio of gateway products and services to drive significant value for both our customers and SATS. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and part of the Global Commercial Leadership Team, this role is in charge of product strategy, management and development in Gateway Services (Ground and Cargo Handling) for our airline customers. The successful candidate will own the Product Management function, blending strong prior experience in product management with intimate understanding of the Airline Gateway Services value chain to drive win-win value creation from innovative new features and/or service or commercial models. They will manage a small team of colleagues and leverage relevant capabilities, assets, technology and the broader organisation to achieve this. This role requires a clear vision for our product portfolio, strong program-building skills, and the ability to foster collaboration with customers, colleagues and potential partners.
Strategic & Program Leadership
- Lead the organization's global Product Management function for ground handling (above-wing and below-wing) and cargo services on and off airport
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and launch a continuous stream of new features and/or service- or commercial models that set us apart and deliver significant value for our customers and SATS
- Build, develop and maintain our product management framework and governance system to increase success rate and efficiency
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Product Managers into a high performing team
- Foster a culture of ownership, performance and continuous improvement
Product Portfolio Strategy and Optimisation
- Dynamically update and adjust our product portfolio strategy in line with overall company strategy to achieve our growth ambitions
- Oversee and drive the product lifecycle from launch to sunset
Product Strategy and Management
- Own and drive the development of compelling, ambitious and aligned product strategies and roadmaps for each product in our portfolio that ensures competitiveness and value-creation for customers and SATS
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Regional and Country teams to drive continuous, profitable growth in line with long-term ambitions and short-terms budgets
- Orchestrate and drive the cross-functional, holistic product performance including financial and service delivery
Product Development
Collaborate across functions to execute the product roadmaps and develop new features and/or service or commercial models from ideation to launch, including:
- Leveraging customer and market insight and crowd sourcing to generate ideas for innovation, differentiation and value creation
- Qualifying, evaluating and prioritizing ideas based on attractiveness and ability to execute and win
- Identify and execute quick, low-cost options for testing and piloting new features and/or models
- Establish KPIs to evaluate pilots and proofs of concept
- Iterate on ideas and pilots to either fail fast or achieve a successful pilot
- For successful pilots / POCs, develop a plan to mature and scale the product or service idea for launch and success in the target market
- Develop financial business cases for maturing and scaling
- For approved business cases, execute on the plan and develop viable features/models ready for launch, including maturing the value proposition, processes and setup for delivery, tech development, go-to-market plans, pricing strategy, sales collateral, training
- Collaborating with Marketing and other functions to launch the new feature/model
Key Requirements
- With more than 10 years of progressive experience in at least four of the following disciplines:

- Strong knowledge of aviation services and international supply chains

- Knowledge of agile development principles
