Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties - Catering & Food Manufacturing
- Provide quality assurance oversight for meal preparation, including commercial catering, cookhouse weekend catering, food manufacturing activities, and new catering or project contracts.
- Conduct routine food safety and hygiene inspections at SFS kitchens, store ops, and related facilities to ensure compliance with SFA regulations, HACCP principles, FSSC 22000 requirements, and customer contractual standards.
- Perform random food sampling, mandatory microbiological testing, and hygiene swab programs in accordance with FSSC 22000 requirements, applicable regulatory standards, and specific customer contractual requirements, including systematic review, trending, and follow-up of results.
- Support process validation, shelf-life validation, and QA verification activities for existing and new products or catering contracts to ensure continued compliance with FSSC 22000, customer specifications, and internal QA governance requirements.
- Support and participate in customer audits, SFA inspections (including unannounced inspections), and FSSC certification audits, including documentation preparation and corrective action follow-up.
- Assist in customer complaint investigations, including foreign matter findings and suspected food poisoning incidents, ensuring objective and defensible QA conclusions.
Secondary Duties - Field Rations (FR) (Cross-Coverage Role)
- Provide QA cross-coverage support for Field Rations activities to ensure continuity of critical QA functions during audits, incidents, leave coverage, or manpower disruptions.
- Support incoming inspection verification, documentation review, and digitalisation of inspection results in the S4 HANA system, in accordance with established QA procedures.
- Assist with routine QA sampling, test result consolidation, and basic data trending for FR under the direction of the QA Manager or designated FR lead.
- Assist in joint inspections with SAF representatives (HQ Supply Ration Ops & Control Team) and support coordination with Warehouse, Packing, and Operations teams to ensure inspection readiness.
General QA Support
- Support the Head QA and QA Manager on QA projects, ad-hoc inspections, event catering support, and cross-functional QA activities.
- Maintain accurate QA records and support continual improvement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
Key Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
- 3 class driving licence (is preferred)
- Prior experience in QA, food safety, or catering operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 or similar food safety management system and standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in digital tools (e.g., S4 HANA, Excel, Pivot Tables).
