Key Responsibilities

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Facilities & Workplace Safety to lead the maintenance of our physical infrastructure and ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations. This role is pivotal in supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and employee well-being by overseeing facilities management, safety programs, and security protocols across our premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Management:

  • Lead daily operations of building systems including M&E, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and general infrastructure.
  • Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Oversee office renovations, space planning, and general housekeeping to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Manage facilities-related budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.

Workplace Safety, Health & Security (WSH):

  • Implement and maintain safety and security policies in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA), Environmental Public Health Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Drive the adoption of Group-level HSSE standards and programs within the business unit.
  • Lead risk assessments, safety inspections, and internal audits; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness initiatives including fire drills, first-aid readiness, and crisis response plans.
  • Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and closure of safety incidents, near misses, and hazard observations.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox briefings, and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for contractors and vendors.
  • Serve as Secretary for Monthly HSSE Meetings and maintain accurate WSH documentation and statutory records.

Regulatory Compliance & Administration:

  • Liaise with government agencies (e.g., MOM, NEA, SCDF, BCA) for inspections, permits, and compliance matters.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory codes of practice and licensing requirements (e.g., Fire Safety Certificate, BCA inspections).
  • Support ISO, bizSAFE, or other safety and quality certifications and audits.
  • Provide monthly reports on facilities performance, safety metrics, and compliance status to senior management.

Key Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in facilities and workplace safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore’s WSH regulations, codes of practice, and standards such as SS 506 or ISO 45001.
  • Competency in risk management and HSSE systems; bizSAFE Level 3 (or higher), Fire Safety Manager, or WSH Officer certification is advantageous.
  • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies outside of office hours when required.

Working Conditions:

  • Based on-site with occasional travel to other facility locations.
  • Physically fit to conduct site inspections and respond to emergencies.
  • May require after-hours or weekend work for scheduled maintenance or urgent issues.
